Your creator gave you emotions for a reason. They are there to help you move forward in your life in a healthy way. The acknowledgment and expression of your emotions gives you the opportunity to release emotional pain and have a fresh start. Denied emotions creates a build up of negative energy in your subconscious mind that must at some time erupt. Denied emotion is the cornerstone of addiction. Denied emotion creates passive-aggressive behavior, resentment, and broken relationships. In short denied emotions cause you to be unhappy. What most people don’t realize is that once you allow yourself to feel your emotions they tend to be felt then go into resolution. Let yourself feel. The feelings will pass like a wave. Sometimes we need to do something like a pillow hit or rage at the stars. To unleash your negative emotions on another person is generally non-productive and not only hurts the other person but ultimately hurts you. Sometimes we need to sing to the stars. Well, just let that joy come out. Feel it. There are creative ways of expressing your emotions. So next time you have an upsetting or joyful experience, let yourself acknowledge what you feel deep inside. Then find a helpful way to express it.
