How To Handle A Bully Part One

Someone told me once that a bully is someone who is afraid and will back down if confronted directly. I don’t know if it’s always true that they will back down, but I believe it’s true that bullies are afraid. So if you are being bullied in some way by someone what should you do? In life it is generally good to take a stand for yourself. It’s helpful to think through how you are going to take a stand before you take any action. But first things first. It’s likely that you are afraid of this person and wish they would just go away but they aren’t doing you that favor. So now you have an opportunity to face your fear. Remember that much of your fear may be exaggerated or based on unresolved fears from your past. Now is your chance to overcome irrational fear and take a stand for yourself. If you do you may find that you are a lot stronger and braver than you thought yourself to be. Fear is a sneaky foe. It wants to tell you what to do and how to run your life. If you allow fears to be the boss you will not have a quality life. In fact, you will be manipulated over and over again reinforcing your fear. So consider this: you are stronger and braver than you thought yourself to be. Next we’ll talk about how to handle a bully and overcome your fears in the process.
