Goal Setting Three: Be Specific

What you desire can manifest in your life. Desire backed by strong commitment and emotion becomes reality. So does being very specific about what you want. So when you sit down to write your goals be specific. For example, too general a goal would be, “I want to be an actor.” A specific goal would be, “I want to be accepted at UCLA’s theatrical department next year and specialize in acting. Then I want to audition for every part that I may qualify for in Los Angeles.” You can even get more specific and name people you want to work with, when you want to submit your application, etc. The more specific you become in setting your goals the more your mind will say, “Ok, I’ll do that.” The way to get what you want is to think about, be specific about, and focus on what you want. Feel its power. Imagine what your life will be like when you achieve the goal. Visualize yourself doing and being your goal. Your mind won’t be able to resist and will automatically move your toward your goal. The universe won’t be able to resist either. It will offer you opportunities and help move you forward. Trust it. Be specific.
