Dear One you have experienced so much anxiety and want to know how to stop it. Did you know that your thoughts are the cause of your anxiety? Every time you have a negative thought you cause yourself anxiety. Such thoughts as, “I can’t do this,” or “I’ll feel this way the rest of my life,” or “no one cares,” or “I don’t have the courage to take a stand for myself” have power. And when you have these kind of thoughts you automatically have an emotional reaction. With this kind of negative thinking who wouldn’t have anxiety? So here’s the cure: when you feel anxious, stop. Ask yourself what negative thought you just had. The thought may have come and gone very quickly so you may have to put a little mental effort into finding it. But you can find it. Once you find the thought then turn it around. For example, turn “I can’t do this” into “I will find a way to make this happen.” Turn “no one cares” into “I care and there are others who do, too.” Got the idea? So once you begin to understand your own thoughts and control them you will find that your anxiety leaves you and becomes replace with more peaceful feelings. But if your anxiety persists then seek professional help. There could be some underlying memory or core belief that you have not yet acknowledged that once understood could set you free from anxiety.
