Your phobias can be cured and stress can be managed in therapy with Dr. Wendy Hill.
Dr. Wendy is your phobia therapist.
Over the years I have helped many overcome their phobias. I have helped people jump out of airplanes or dive deep undersea. Sometimes the fear is more down to earth like fear of open spaces, or of driving, or going to the doctor, taking a test, or speaking in public. Whatever the fear or phobia you can be sure that it is linked to some past upsetting experience as an infant or child. Your phobia is a symptom of an unconscious upsetting core belief you have about yourself. The good news is that you can bring that conflicting belief into your conscious mind and you can heal and transform it into something positive. And in doing so your fear and phobia will automatically disappear.
There are powerful processes that I can introduce to you that will automatically reach your subconscious mind and transform how you experience your world.
Hypnotherapy and regression are tools that can allow you to understand and deeply heal. It transcends traditional therapy and offers you not only freedom from phobias but offers the opportunity to feel more empowered and confident in all your relationships. My very best to you, Wendy Hill, PhD.
Phobia Causes
Phobias and anxiety attacks are caused by fear based thoughts held in the subconscious mind. These thoughts can be irrational and not based on reality. Nevertheless they have great power and can limit one’s life and well-being significantly. Such thoughts are often linked to long forgotten stressful experiences. Sometimes a phobia can originate during childhood under upsetting circumstances over which the child had little or no control. The child can take on an upsetting belief that remains in the subconscious mind and can be triggered later by a circumstance that in some way reminds the subconscious mind of the original upsetting experience. Phobias later in life can often be linked to upsetting childhood experiences. However, the person experiencing the phobia can be entirely unaware of the phobia’s origin. The right phobia therapist can help.
Phobias can take many forms. Some are fear of heights, fear of depths, fear of closed in spaces, fear of leaving the house, fear of medical treatment (doctors, needles, dentists, hospitals, etc.), fear of flying, fear of germs, fear of animals or bugs, fear of the dark, fear of water, fear of open spaces. These are examples of generalized fears. One can have a phobia of specific things such as a particular person, place, or thing.
True Client Story with Dr. Wendy, Phobia Therapist
Some time ago I had a highly trained and otherwise competent client whose career depended on his skill in diving to great depths in the ocean. For years he was noted in his field as one of the best divers. Suddenly and without warning he was assailed by irrational fears of diving and depths. When in a dive he would have increasing anxiety with every foot he descended. He would experience a severe anxiety attack. His heart rate would go up. His breathing would become irregular. He would have to abort the dive and return to the surface. He felt extreme remorse, embarrassment, and shame.
He did not know what to tell his colleagues or his boss. When he came to me for help he was desperate to overcome his fears. As I took his history I learned that he had recently gone through a painful break up with his girlfriend. This break up had triggered long lost memories of childhood feelings of abandonment. Those memories and feelings were triggered when he made a dive. Each foot he descended reminded his subconscious mind of increasing isolation. Once he identified the origin of his phobia he was able to heal it with the help of a few suggestions and a few guided imagery processes while in hypnosis. His phobia was completely healed and he returned to his job refreshed and full of energy.
Hypnotherapy Combined With Psychotherapy Help You Cope With Stress
Are you experiencing stress? Is stress causing you to lose sleep, feel overwhelmed, lose focus, be emotionally off balance, hurting your relationships, compromising your work, disrupting your well-being and happiness? Feeling burned out? Did you know that stress can cause significant health problems and rob you of your happiness? Take control of your life. Overcome stress and bring balance back into your life. Learn to cope with stress with hypnotherapy.
The stress in your life is your teacher. Listen to your stress. It can help motivate you to examine yourself and move you toward positive change. It can reveal to you your self-destructive thinking. It can tell you what needs changing in your life. The changes will help you choose better ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Dr. Wendy has been in practice for over 40 years in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. She knows that your stress is your call to a better life.
Healthy and Unhealthy Stress
Dr. Wendy helps you listen closely to and learn from your stress, whether it be physical, psychological, spiritual, or social. All stress has something to teach. Some stresses are healthy and help build confidence and character. Some stresses are unhealthy and can undermine your health and happiness. Hypnotherapy helps you identity the causes of unhealthy stress. It helps you identify the uncomfortable conditions and situations that cause unhealthy stress and opens the door to deeper wisdom. The lessons your stress is trying to reveal to you are always positive.
You may think that some stresses have no apparent positive lesson. And, yet, observe the impossible situations people have endured that have brought ultimate joy if the lesson is learned. People with life threatening disease, people who are imprisoned, people who have lost all their loved ones from war, fire, disease, or other disasters–all have the opportunity to become enlightened by the experience.
Understand Your Stress
Do not fight your stress. Instead, attempt to understand its source. Then become proactive in changing things for the better. Listen to the message of your stress. Is it telling you to change an attitude? Is it telling you to change a behavior? What does it suggest? It is trying to tell you something. Deep within you is the answer. Trust what your deep self is saying and follow it. Wendy has a saying, “From the ashes of your desperation arise the phoenix of your Truth.” Use your will to find the truth hidden behind your stress.
True Client Story
Charlie was so stressed it was starting to effect his health and was compromising his relationship with his wife and children. He was overworked, over committed, and worried about everything. Unwilling to change his life he came to hypnotherapy hoping that with direct hypnotic suggestion his stress would leave him. He didn’t want to change his life or participate in his treatment. He just wanted a magic wand to make his stress go away while he continued with his stress inducing ways. Through hypnotherapy he came to realize that his stress was caused by subconscious fears that drove him. He recognized the source of his stress-driven attitudes and replaced them with healthier attitudes. At this point he was ready and willing to change how he lived his life. He made the changes. His wife and children are greatly relieved. Now Charlie is happier and more relaxed and to his surprise his business is prospering. Wendy Hill, Ph.D.
